While living on campus during their first semester, residents will have a network of friends to choose from. Incoming freshmen meet prospective roommates during New Maverick Orientation or other times on campus prior to their arrival.
Do freshman have to purchase a meal plan at UTA?
Arlington Hall, Kalpana Chawla, Vandergriff Hall, Lipscomb and West Campus Residence Hall residents are required to select one of the four traditional Meal Plan options, and Meal Plans are optional for all other residence halls and student apartments. Residence hall residents cannot choose a commuter Meal Plan.
Does Utd require freshmen to live on campus?

Does Uta have a curfew?
To comply with the city’s curfew and for the safety of all UTA faculty, staff and students, the UTARI building and the UTA Fort Worth campus will be closed from 7:30 p.m. until 6 a.m. as long as the curfew remains in effect.
What is a meal period at UTA?
Dining Dollars and College Park Dollars are accepted 7 days a week, during normal hours of operation. The contract period for the Fall and Spring semesters commence with lunch, on the Monday for Fall and Friday for Spring, before classes begin and ends with dinner on the last day of Fall and Spring final exams.
How does UTA meal plan work?
You receive a set number of meals per semester based on the plan you select. In addition, each meal plan comes with a certain amount of Dining Dollars that can be used at the Plaza food court, Starbucks, The Market and other on-campus Dining services locations, in addition to UTA’s cafes.
Where do UTD students live?
First-year students are students who graduate high school in May or June prior to their first fall semester at UT Dallas. First-year students who choose to live on campus will be assigned to live in University Commons.
