Television being the most popular form of invention in the media industry has conceivably grown to become the main source of information and entertainment. Given the potency of media, Lotz (2007) contends that television will remain a most inevitable media appliance that many households will easily have access to whenever and wherever there is need. While technology and development continues to enable individuals receive entertainment and information from more sophisticated devices, television remains a most empowering tool that many people still need in their lives.

In the current society, modern television sets are more complex than the traditional electronic devices that only allowed viewers to receive news or watch movies. Innovations on television have made it possible to receive a variety of multimedia content that entertain, educate, and inform on the status of the current affairs (Today in history: A day-by-day review of world events, 2003). Even with the innovation of other electronic devices, television remains the most stubborn form of innovation that has refused to fade away so many years after its discovery (Jankowski & Fuchs, 1996). Television sets remain vital as they provide local news in details as compared to the internet.

It is no doubt that television remains the most popular medium of information transmission compared to other mediums such as radio and newspaper. However, with the coming of computers, many people agree that they can live without television sets since computers can provide the missing links as to relay the desired media content. Even though people can access media contents from other platforms such as tablets, computers, and mobile phone interfaces, televisions, in my opinion, remain significant in daily life. Therefore, I cannot do without it even in the future.
